Vivo has been quietly working on a new series of smartphones for some time now. The company has now made it official by launching the Vivo X Series in China. Starting with the X21 which was launched earlier this year and followed by the X21S and the X27 that were launched at IFA Berlin earlier this month. Today, we get to know more details about all these devices, including the launch date and pricing details.
What is the Vivo X Series?
The story of the Vivo X Series begins with the launch of the Vivo X21 smartphone back in August. The X21 was a pretty interesting device as it launched with a camera setup that was capable of producing 3D depth images. This feature did catch the attention of many smartphone users as it was still pretty rare to find such a feature in smartphones back then.
This was followed by the launch of the Vivo X21S in October, which was only available in China. The X21S was an upgraded variant of the initial X21 that came with an Infinity-O display, upgraded cameras, and more. Later in the year, in November, the Vivo X27 was launched as the flagship smartphone of the series. This phone was only available in China and was powered by the Snapdragon 845 SoC along with a triple-camera set-up at the back. Now that we are in the end of the year and the Chinese smartphone market typically sees a great deal of activity during this time, we can expect the Vivo X Series to land in India soon.
